When I right-click my Blend project and select Add New Item, I only see Scene
under the Installed Templates. Did I miss something in the installation?

Silverlight 1.0 does not support support a Controls framework. That (WPF
parity) will come in the Silverlight 2.0 timeframe.
Thanks!

Some background... I was using the Microsoft Silverlight 1.1 Alpha September
Refresh and going through the one called Silverlight QuickStart Using
Microsoft Expression Blend in step 5 where I add the MediaElement and I
couldn't get it to play the video. Looking at other posts I saw someone
having a similar problem and they put the MediaElement in a User Control and
it worked.
So I found this video at lynda.com in the Expression Blend lessons showing
how to create a User Control.
http://movielibrary.lynda.com/html/player/index.cfm?id={D6F11F1D-5922-4C1D-BBBA-8CA2782CF3F9}&redirect=no
It shows the guy right clicking on the project and selecting Add New Item.
He then selects User Controls. I only have Scene. Maybe you can check out
that link on lynda.com and give me some insight.
Thanks,
Jill
WPF- -a threat to WinForms? .NET Framework Here I am learning WinForms and two months into it I learn there's a WPF API that is coming out. Is this WPF out yet, and is it a threat to WinForms, in the sense that all the library routines I memorize and / or familiarize myself in WinForms will disappear in WPF? I did note in one early version of C#, the non-generic "ArrayList" was replaced and template <> based List, but that kind of change is not a big deal. If WPF makes these trivial changes I can deal with it, otherwise not. I see WPF uses some variant of XML in lieu of binary serialization, which is no biggie, but I will be bummed (I doubt it). Also is C# going to be supported in WPF? I suppose so. Any thoughts appreciated. Seems to me, as a newbie coming from a objects. Also it seems to me (intuition) that ASP.NET will be more affected by WPF, since ASP.NET seems more like a script / macro language and / or not- strongly typed
additional side menu? Or is there another way of doing this? Any help much appreciated. wether it is a type or a value, this could be either of :- (type) unary_expression (expression) - expression particularly if a is a static field or member type then a might not be value needs to be enclosed in parentheses: (System.Int32) (-1) so (a) - 1 unambiguously matches (expression) - expression Tom Dacon thanks but I think it still is as, (int) -1 is valid becuase -1 is a unary-expression and so does not need parentheses it also compiles ok. I think the same confusion on whether a is a type or not. 1: ( type ) unary_expression = reduces to = > cast_expression 2: ( expression ) - multiplicative_expression = reduces to = > multiplicative_expression additive_operators multiplicative_expression = reduces to = > additive_expression the alternatives would be to output known. so output data from the parser which does not distinguish between cast_expression: ( type ) unary expression and expressions involving parenthesised expressions. however this makes it tricky when the expression continues further. the other alternative is to include two alternative paths in the output tree
